Case Study 9
NOTE: this scenario is identical to the previous scenario, except for the underlined text.
A 30-year-old female with relapsing MS appears to recover to baseline after being treated with high-dose corticosteroids for a relapse. At the time of her relapse, MRI showed 2 contrast-enhancing lesions, one of which correlated with her symptoms and one that appeared to be asymptomatic. This was the patient’s first known relapse in 2 years, since starting her current oral DMT. The patient lives in a remote, rural area, more than 6 hours by car from the closest medical center with infusion capabilities.
